Masterson’s Tavern , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my latest trip at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I found behind its threshold was disturbing and far below any standard .
The Condition of the Premises : Squalid and Neglected Beyond Belief
From the moment I entered , it was clear that cleanliness was not a priority at this bar . The floors were sticky , and a foul smell of stale beer and uncleaned toilets permeated the entire establishment . Smelling a mixture of human waste, putrefaction and sickness . The main bar, which should be the primary feature of any pub, was overflowing with soiled cups and trash that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The restroom was in even more deplorable shape — backed up, with a broken handle and walls covered in what I can only assume was feces.
It wasn’t just a single bad experience either. For a business that provides refreshments , these issues are entirely inappropriate and raise serious concerns about the quality of the food and drinks .
